Nehemiah Ashord-Carroll featured ClemsonWorld's "Good Design" Summer 2023 article
Clemson, South Carolina - Congratulations to our Brother Nehemiah Ashford-Carroll (Spr. 2019), predominately featured in Clemson World's Summer Edition 2023. Brother Nehemiah Ashford-Carroll was also named on the cover for that edition.
Brother Ashford-Carroll, with Clemson Faculty Clarissa Mendez, has led an effort to improve social and civil design to decrease the friction and violence of protests, particularly in light of the 2020 protest in the murder of George Floyd.
The effort refers to as "Design Justice," has led to a course to promote the idea that "architecture can work collaboratively, and designs become fairer." (Medez, ClemsonWorld, 2023)
That course began as a creative Inquiry in Fall 2020 and became an elective course in Spring 2021. More on their journey to include this perspective in Clemson's Architecture program is available in the ClemsonWorld Article here (ClemsonWorld, Summer 2023).
