The Passing of Brother Clarence L. B. Addison, Sr.
Brothers,
We again have some sad news to dispatch.
Bro. Clarence Lee Benjamin Addison, the Charter Advisor to Pi Alpha Chapter, passed away from an apparent heart attack on September 17, 2005. He is survived by his wife Rubilee and four children - Donna, Clarence, Jr; Maudre; and Kriste.
Bro. Addison, Professor Emeritus of Construction Science and Management, was one of Clemson University's first African-American faculty members. Services for Bro. Addison were held on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at St. Mark United Methodist Church, 616 Quincy Road in Seneca at 2:00 PM. An Burial Service was held on Saturday, September 24, 2005 in Orangeburg, SC. All who spoke about Bro. Addison remembered his steady, calm demeanor, his devotion to his family and his love for photography. Bro. Bill Mcall's rememance of Dr. Addison is available here.
Bro. Addison served many roles in Alpha including the immediate Chapter President of Rho Delta Lambda Chapter in Anderson, SC. Bro. Addison also served on the SC Alpha Board as the District's Photographer.
The family received friends at the church one hour prior to the service. The family's residence is 860 Anderson Hwy, Clemson, SC. Adams Mortuary (500 East South First Street, 864-882-2524 Seneca, SC) was in charge of arrangements.
