Clemson, South Carolina - PANAC Leadership was informed that the first scholarship award of Alpha Phi Alpha - Pi Alpha Chapter –Alumni Scholarship Endowment (APAPACASE) has been selected. The 2012-2013 APAPACASE scholarship has been awarded to Chelsey Elizabeth Burkett, a senior majoring in Early Childhood Education.
Ms. Burkett is from Columbia, South Carolina and will receive the amount of $1,000 for her continuing education. She was raised a Tiger fan and has the admirable goal "to help children succeed in the world". After graduation, Ms. Burkett plans to teach in South Carolina in one of the surrounding areas. Ms. Burkett has written a thank you note to PANAC for her selection (viewable below).
PANAC established APAPACASE with the Clemson University Alumni Association in 2003 with the goal to raise $25,000 by 2008. That goal was accomplished on February 18, 2008, at PANAC 25th year Reunion. Since then, PANAC has raised more than $45,000 to this effort and we will continue to support our scholarship effort. This endowment is dedicated in honor of our Charter Advisor, Bro. Clarence B. Addison.
We are asking all PANAC alumni to continue to give to our scholarship effort so we can help more students continue their education. Congratulations to Ms. Burkett for her accomplishments and we are very proud to have her is our first recipient of our scholarship.
